For over 25 years a small community of residents have been living in El Cortijo Grande. Restaurants and guesthouses are popular with visitors and residents giving the valley an established sense of place.

Activities in the valley include golf, tennis, horseriding, hill walking and boules. More activities will be available as the resort is developed. The beaches of Mojacar offer watersports and the climate to enjoy them year round. The winter ski slopes in the Sierra Nevada above Granada are just two hours drive away.
