The ski resort at Sierra Nevada, just north of Granada is only 2hrs drive from El Cortijo Grande and therefore perfect for a day or weekend trip.

At an altitude of over 10,000 feet and with brilliant sunshine most of the winter, the views are spectacular. From the top of the Veleta peak, skiers can see across the Mediterranean to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Snow is light and dry because of the low humidity in this area. When it doesn't snow, Sierra Nevada has one of Europe's most advanced snowmaking systems. The resort town has lively tapas bars, quaint shops and elegant hotels climbing the mountainside.
